Default Refinining Items

No one has mentioned this idea and ANET probably hasn't even thought of it.

CHeck this out cause it will be the best idea since sliced bread

So anet likes to keep uber weapons down correct? And they like to keep armor non flashy? Not to mention dyes look very not colorful?

SO you might be wondering how can i stand out from the crowd. I WANNA BE SEEN. well you should!

Its a process called refining. Simply they can add a merchant refiner. What he does is. After paying him gold and the needed supplies he can refine your weapon/armor w/e. After each refine the selected item GETS BRIGHTER AND BRIGTHER. Each level of refining costs more and more. Like maybe the first 2 lvls are easy (5 iron ignots. 5 cloth, 10 bones) but the later levels are like (15 steel, 100 iron, etc.....)

Also when you refine not only do you get a REALLY shiny weapon or armor but some more stats too. +1 defense, +1 str. Something like that.

What are your thoughts.

Right, no matter how flashy your weapon is, it will still do the same amount of damage regardless of how much money you paid for it.

Excellent idea: removes money from the economy, people get a nice and shiny weapon.

And that's the part that's not going to happen. Pumping a lot of money into your equipment shouldn't give you any edge whatsoever.

Also, if you have a suggestion for improving the game, post it in the Sardelac Sanatorium.

Default Yeah

I agree with everything except the last part, people shouldn't get an advantage over everyone else cuz they spent 100k, that promotes grind

IT doesn't matter anyway. Guild wars wont do it.

Who am i? Im a random forum person with no say what so ever in the game community.

Its a great idea but will never be implemented.

what a lame idea.. RPGs could do without selling out to the kids who must have luminescent equipment to show how much l33ter than you they are... Go and play UO if glowing pimp sticks in place of staffs are what makes the game fun for you!

Well for one thing, if it adds defense and/or strength/dmg, then it goes against Anet's policy of no (as how you put it) "uber" weapons.

I personally would prefer Anet spend the time on making other armor/weapon designs, instead of just making it "shiny". And along those line, more hair styles to further diversity.

I want to see dye have more of an affect of weapons. Then you can customize to your hearts content...

Also, it could be good if one was able to put jewels in their weapon, such as a diamond in a sword. Or what about jewels in the armour?

Please, no. No. NO. NO!!! The whole point is, whatever expensive crap you can buy to customize, that it doesn't have any stats.

You seem to be having difficulty with the concept that you should not have better weapons (stats) by putting more money into an item. That happens in many other games you may want to try, but ANet has said that is not their goal here.

Want to make this a real money sink? Let people upgrade the mods on their weapons in this fashion.

AKA, spend 10k to turn your +10% while health above shortbow into a +11%. then 20k to make it a +12%. 40k to make it +13%...

Clean up access issues to good rare weapons, and pull a ton of money out of the economy in the process.

Peace,
-CxE

Seems that also goes against the concept of paying money to get better weapons. There are people in the game who have 100's of thousands of gold and could easily afford such upgrades. Again there are games for those where the rich and grinders rule. This is not supposed to be another of them.

Learn to use your skills properly and you will be better than many, if not most, of the players with the "same" item stats.

Having shiny weapons/armors but look exactly the same otherwise does not make it look "fancier". I say, make new armor sets and more character models to promote diversity.

Something, anything, to give actual purpose to this game and not make it a glorifed Final Fight with a half assed team ladder which at the moment it's well on it's way to eventually becoming.

If in 6 months I'm still wielding 15-28 bows, wearing 70AL armor, rampaging through the same level 24 mobs, and playing paper rock scissors in PvP, I will not be playing this game anymore.

And then 100k to completely remove the "while health is above 50%" mod, and just have that sexy always there mod.

And then let us get it to our PvPers, customized...

Or maybe add jewels to weapons for further modifiers so you don't just have a haft and grip or something, you can have a jewel which may add a bit more of magic or energy or something like that. Something different from what the other two modifiers offer so it adds more to the weapon but doesn't make it uber better then one without.

I'm also all for more diversity in armour, weapons and hairstyles. Definately plenty more needed.
